How does Laser Therapy help to quit smoking?
The smoker feels a strong urge to smoke when the body-mind is agitated. Nicotine response makes the brain increase endorphin release. The endorphins satisfy and calm the mind. After a few hours the endorphin levels drop. The body-mind gets agitated and frustrated; the attention span to accomplish any work is not there. The craving for a cigarette becomes very strong. Once a cigarette is smoked the endorphins level is high, the body-mind system calms down. This is an ongoing process that can last a lifetime. The nicotine enforces this pattern. The chart below shows the high and low endorphin patterns from the nicotine addiction.
Why smokers cannot quit smoking
The Nulife Laser Therapy treatment stabilizes the endorphin level. The body-mind is in a calmer relaxed state. The cravings are no longer as strong and become easily managed. The leveled endorphin flow helps the smoker reduce or eliminate the desire to smoke. The 72 hours detox required for nicotine recovery is best accomplished in conjunction with the detox protocal provided with the laser treatment.

What to expect during treatment
Relax on a reclining treatment chair and listen to soothing music. Our Staff will explain the procedure to you and ask you to wear protective eye-wear. Treatment is given using the best low-level laser equipment on the market today. A hand wand is applied to various acupuncture points the head, ears, wrists, fingers and feet. Each point is held for 30 seconds. You may feel a slight warm or tingling sensation, but many of our patients feel nothing. As the points are stimulated with the laser light, your body will begin to release endorphins and other powerful neuro-chemicals which cause a pleasant sense of relaxation.

You’ll feel refreshed, calm and best of all your desire for nicotine will have evaporated. We will provide you with a recommendation for a nutritional supplement regime to aid in your detoxifying process. NuLife Laser & Wellness Clinic stocks only quality brands for your convenience. What to do if you have a craving
Most of our clients – over 90% in fact – never experience cravings after their laser therapy treatment. If you are one of the minority who do, perhaps due to unforeseen stressful events, you can use your 3rd treatment within 1 month of your original session. Further sessions can be arranged depending on individual need. These sessions are offered to help you remain nicotine and smoke free.
How Does Nicotine Addiction Work
Smoking addiction has been said to parallel that of cocaine & heroin. The psychological and physiological dependency can be even harder to overcome due to the availability of tobacco and its addictive drug, nicotine.
Most quit smoking programs are based on nicotine replacement methods, cutting down, weaning off, cold turkey. Many of these programs are using nicotine to help you quit nicotine… does that make sense to you? These programs only have up to a 29% success rate because they only deal with the physical part of the addiction.
Why Nicotine Replacements Fail (Gum, Patches, Inhalers & Pills)
As long as any nicotine remains in the bloodstream, the body will keep craving it. Cutting down on cigarettes or using nicotine replacements simply throw the smoker into a chronic state of drug withdrawal. As soon as the smoker fails to reach the minimum requirement of nicotine, the body starts demanding it, whether from a cigarette or more nicotine replacements.
A November 2003 study found that as many as 6.7% of nicotine gum “quitters” were still chronic users at six months, three months beyond FDA use guidelines. In other words, they are now “addicted” to the Nicotine Replacement! Experts have compared the use of nicotine replacements to quit smoking to an alcoholic switching from Rum to Vodka – it doesn’t stop the addiction.

Corporate Smoking Cessation Wellness Program
Corporations lose millions of dollars annually because of employees smoke. The benefit of implementing a smoking cessation program far outweighs the initial cost. Our smoking cessation program is the easy way to stop smoking, resulting in healthy smoke free environment.
Did you know that smokers…
- Are less productive
- Increase the cost of maintenance and cleaning
- Take more sick days
- Increase the risk of fire and other accidents
- Have higher insurance rates
- Need to retire sooner for health reasons
- Cost the company $2565 per person per year
According to Health Canada these four factors influenced their findings:
1. Decreased productivity
Each employee who takes a “smoke break” throughout the day, costs the company thousands of dollars each year.
According to surveys the average Canadian smoker consumes 19 cigarettes a day.
If smoking is not allowed at work then the smoker will consume most of their cigarettes outside of the work hours.
If smoking is permitted, the average “smoke break” consist of:
- 5-10 minutes smoking
- Extra time leaving and returning to their work area
- Additional time to re-focus on their task
Many smokers finish their cigarette and try to consume a second before going back to work. On an average of one cigarette per hour, and a minimum of 3 minutes per cigarette, the average smoker spends at least half an hour each day smoking on company time.
If each employee who smokes, works an average of 227 days per year, that equates to 113.5 hours a year lost in “smoke breaks,” that the company is paying for.
2. Increased Absenteeism
The General Social Survey of Health Canada and the Survey of Smoking in Canada compared the cost of having employees who smoke vs. non-smokers.
According to these findings, smokers take approximately 1.8 more sick days each year than non-smokers. Since most companies pay for sick days, absenteeism is a very large cost to the company.
3. Cost for each smoking area
The following are examples of what is required to create a smoking area:
- Planners to decide on a designated area
- Contractors to build the area
- Supplies and furniture
- Fans for ventilation
- Increased building and property insurance
- Staff to repair and maintain the area
4. Increased cost for life insurance
Most life insurance companies charge a premium rate for smokers because they:
- Take more sick days
- Make more claims
- Have more health complications
- And die sooner
It makes sense for companies to pay for employees to quit smoking!
NuLife Laser & Wellness Clinic specializes in helping people quit smoking. Our smoking cessation program has the highest known success rate versus any other method.
Even at the regular rate one paid sick day would cover the cost of the smoking cessation program.
A corporate rate can be arranged to enable companies to pay for their employees to quit smoking.
